The FREE Spring Residential cleanup will be held April 27 and 28th. The event is facilitated by the Partners in Community Pride Committee and the Brown County Landfill. Residents can drop trash off at the landfill and various locations in the city.
The landfill waves fees for trees, rubble, waste oil, furniture, paint, antifreeze, scrap metal, propane tanks, appliances, grass, leaves and other miscellaneous waste. Residents are only allowed to drop off four tires during the free cleanup. Regular fees still apply for businesses and commercial waste and mobile homes.
To get to the landfill, take U.S. Highway 12 west from Aberdeen and then turn north at 379th Avenue. Landfill staff ask that residents avoid using Eighth Avenue. Residents are also required to cover all loads and make sure they’re secured. For more information, contact the landfill at (605) 626-4019.
